What an eventful time it has been for About Eve Life & Culture! We had such fun in the last quarter of 2018 that we didn't even know what happened to time. As much as we enjoyed the whirlwind fun of 2018, About Eve looks forward to what's in store in 2019!

Life & Culture : Feature

There was nothing short of eventful times in 2018 that we honestly didn’t know where the time went!
All we know was one thing led to another and here we are again at the start of the year, feeling fresh and all geared up.
But as with any good start to the year, it won’t be sweet if we don’t look back at all the things that happened and reflect on how much it has taught us and what memories we carry with us, not just for the new year, but for the rest of our lives.
Life & Culture for About Eve has certainly been a wonderful journey from start to finish. From the day we launched on 25 October 2018 at The Studio, Gardens Midvalley right up to the very last moments of December 2018, Life & Culture offered many exciting times and great opportunities to meet new friends and make new connections.
About Eve takes a look at what happened for our Life & Culture.
Simone Jewels: Birds In Poetry
In September, About Eve was invited to a private jewelry viewing by Simone Jewels at Ritz Carlton, Kuala Lumpur. The designer, Simone Ng, a soft-spoken and demure jewelry designer from Singapore, showcased a collection of intricate and delicately designed jewelry that is inspired by her love of poetry.
Presented in three chapters, her collection, aptly named Birds In Poetry, combines key poetic stanzas and feathery beauties to create a collection that illustrates and personifies Enduring Love, Romantic Hope, and Purity in Joy. Each of these masterpieces is designed to reflect and translate the emotions one finds in Love, Hope, and Joy. Each piece is crafted with exquisite range of gemstones with natural, vibrant hues of red, blue, and green – a reflection of not only the beauty of birds’ feather, but also the colors of nature.

Our official launch, of course!
After months of preparation, the About Eve team was finally ready to share our brand with everyone else. Launching together with the first celebration of THESELINA®, we threw together an intimate tea party where all the ladies mingled and make new friends. With many brands joining us as debut, they each showcase their products.
Our tea party isn’t just a dainty tea party. We connected, we discussed, and of course, we had fun at the same time! We talked about matters that are important to women, we looked into potential business ventures, and we also tried out each other’s products. The brands that joined us on our launch each had something to offer and they all had the wonderful opportunity to share their stories and showcase their brands.
About Eve has some of the brands’ products that were available on that day on our online shop, but worry not, as more are coming for you to enjoy and experience!

Bank Negara Museum & Art Gallery: Art Bazaar 2018
Bringing together 10 local female artistes, the Bank Negara Museum & Art Gallery brought to the public Art Bazaar 2018. It provides a rare opportunity for art enthusiasts to view and purchase Malaysian artwork and crafts. Held in November, the Art Bazaar was a one-week event to promote and highlight emerging female artistes in Malaysia.
Each of the artiste offered something fresh, new, and unique to the public for each artwork on display was captivating and interesting. About Eve went to show our support and love to Amy Hashim, one of the female artistes featured during the Art Bazaar. Amy Hashim was also featured on our website as of the artistes we love in Women In Art.
The Art Bazaar begun in 2015 and Bank Negara Malaysia planned to make it an annual event, so we look forward for the one this year!

Shailly Gupta: Fusion of Art and Fashion
At About Eve, we love our art and we surely love our fashion. So when Shailly Gupta, the emerging artiste from India, held a showcase of art and fashion in November and invited us, we were more than thrilled.
Shailly Gupta, the artiste behind the name Indian Ocean, held her first solo exhibition at Tree Bird Tea House. She showcased her original painted works, some 20 paintings, as well as Indian Ocean clutches, an accessory made to match and inspired by her paintings. Even though her clutches are made in limited number, Shailly has many customers who didn’t mind being in the waiting list as her clutches are dainty and beautiful as they are practical and sturdy.
